Jus watched 2 movies in the space of 4 days recently, both were emotional in their own ways.

Although i've never ever read the book before, i still went to watch The Da Vinci Code last Wednesday. The movie was not bad and there was a myserious feeling all the way. You don't really know what was happening and it can really get confusing at times. But the controversey surrounding Jesus is something that has interest me a lot. Did he had a wive and a bloodline? Was he elected to be 'divine'? Is he really God's son? Well, i don't think i can really differentiate between fact and fiction...And i tink Da Vinci is already a mystery himself...

Watched X Men 3 yesterday and it is surely a must-watch movie of the year. The Great Battle between mutants and humans and the last stand. End-to-end action, especially with Jean Gray turning into the Dark Phoenix. It was really very emotional especially when Wolverine had no choice but to kill Jean, the women she loved so much. Terribly disappointed with Cyclops, he died juz like that, and did nothing more. I was shocked that Professor X also died in this episode. Somehow, i sensed a lot of politics, and the part about Beast being part of the Cabinet was hilarious. A Great Movie!

A Year Older, A Year Wiser, finally my birthday is here :p Turning 17 and really being older liao. Must learn to be more mature, its time to grow up! A big Thank you to everyone who has wished me happy birthday through all kinds of ways. Birthday wish? not really, jus hope i can be happy always:) To me, my birthday has always been any normal day. Thanks to those who have made it special. Well, it seems like i can no longer call myself young anymore. I love my mum's red eggs!!

Went to NJ fantasia on saturday and it was fantastic, met many of my past friends and its great to see one another again. Spammed all the tickets that i bought, and also heard a lot of stories about nj...We watched the dota competition and it was really exciting, and inspired me to play better...In the end, i went to play bball, with guohui, sherman, matthew, kahhwee, xingzhi. Its been really long since we played bball together, and it really brought back many of our cathigh memories...

Yesterday went to the newpaper Big Walk for the first time, thanks to yida 的好介绍! Walking 10km non-stop was no joke, and we and boonkiat managed to complete it. Its was quite a fresh experience for me, walking all the way from national stadium to the fulherton hotel and back again, with street performances along the way. Tired as my legs were, the time was worth it.

Headed for VCH to watch the HC choir concert with leech. Not many people seen since its an afternoon performance. Leech came quite late and we were the last ones to squeeze through the door after the bell has rung. The performance was great! Many people still couldn't believe that zhongwei is in choir now after quitting band, but somehow, the spirits were not so high, as compared to the Aesthetique. This is my first choir concert, and i must admit that i prefer a band concert though. But credit to the choir for putting a top- class performance.

Its our sabbaticals week now and quite slack since no lessons will be conducted...

It was a sensational triumph, really. The atmosphere was just great, one of the best that I've ever experienced. Indeed, all the ponning of econs tutorial and rushing to get into the bus for headed for Toa Payoh sports hall was worthwhile after all :)

There were 4 sports finals for us this week, and a huge crowd turned out to support our bball team today. The game was against AJ, and my bball friend told me that they were quite zai. When i stepped into the sports hall, the deafening voices of the AJ crowd actually intimidated and startled me a little. But we were never going to let this happen. We were there with a aim, and that is to cheer for our team and win this final! Determined to be louder than the AJ people, I shouted out all sorts of crap to the best of my ability. We also wanted our players to feel our support for them and win the game for us.

No doubt that AJ came with a group that's bigger than us, but quantity is not a key to this. The match was ever close from start till the end, when we slowly pulled away an 8-point lead, winning it 44-36 in the end. As the match progressed, the passions grew high in me. I was sweating all along, and all those cheering made me appeared as if i'm also one of the players on the court. All sorts of stuff were shouted. It was pretty much like an NBA match when we were chanting "defend". Indeed, things like "referee blind arh" and "referee kayu" were heard too. Haha, i really felt the fantastic hwa chong spirit!

Great job guys! Well done!

The decisive period is finally here. All those moments of waiting and anticipation all amounts to nothing. Indeed the PAP has proven again that it has the support of the masses, but not totally, as can be seen from the concluded General Elections. However, the opposition still kept a strong hold on their seats, like hougang's Low Thia Khiang, and Potong Pasir's Chiam See Tong. The people there has rejected the advances of the ruling party, especially the multi-million upgrade plan, cos the money comes from the people in the first place.

Its been a very exciting experience for me, although i still cannot vote. Even my parents can't cos Bishan-Toa Payoh GRC was a walkover. I actually attended my first ever election rally last week. Well, zhonghao and me went to watch the Worker's Party @ Yishun on wednesday, and it was quite a thrilling experience. Its really a great atmosphere and there's a unique feeling felt in me, something of defiance? It was a feeling i've never had this lifetime. People storm in to watch the rousing speeches of the WP. There aren't many chances that we can see the opposition speaking in public.

On Thursday, i went to Ang Mo Kio with guo hui to watch yet another WP rally. This time, the people attending the rally is even greater than before, estimated abt 10,000. This is crazy...We saw the WP flag being waved around vigorously by the WP supporters, who were very vocal and passionate. Affected by them, i actually shouted and cheered for the WP speakers, including Low Thia Khiang, who was 1 person i admire. With high spirits and a moment of rashness, i actually bought the WP flag for fun and waved it around. It feels great, believe me. Guo hui bought the party manifesto for 5 bucks...

In fact, the popularity of the WP was shown on polling day, when it achieved commendable results of an average of 38% votes in the seats in contested. The courage of the young WP 'suicide squad' to contest in Lee Hsien Loong's Ang Mo Kio GRC is applaudable too, and they actually had 1/3 of the votes. Ajunied was the fierest battle among all GRCs and the PAP eventually emerged victorious with 56% majority votes over the WP. The "Gomezgate" has dominated the news, and i believe that there's no need for the PAP to kick up such a big fuss. James Gomez has already apologised, and there's nothing to be explained...Overall, I think it was a good showing for the WP in this GE and it shows that WP is developing and growing, with better candidates joining. The momentum must be maintained for success in the future.

We can't deny the hard work and commitment that the PAP has put in for years to build up Singapore. Indeed, if there's no PAP, there's no Singapore today. But there are some actions that I cannot agree with, like the GRC system. i dun think its justified, and that it has make things difficult for the opposition.

The oppostion is growing, for sure. Now that elections have ended, no matter who we have in the parliament, there is one common goal, and that is to bring Singapore forward in the 21st century. I actually stayed up till 3am on voting day, and even watched the press conference. Fatigue is seen in many candidates, for many days of tiring campaigning. The next GE promises to be more exciting, becos there will be a new batch of voters, including myself. Will the PAP stay in power? It has to prove it during these 5 years.

Looking back at myself, we only need to study for 2 days this week. Tomorrow is a school holiday due to election, Thur is sports day and Fri is public holiday. How cool can it get? A chance for me to get more rest and also catch up on my work.
