Guess what? I went to Pulau Tekong today! Well, it was actually a trip to Basic Military Training Centre (BMTC). Thinking that it's going to be a unique experience, i grabbed the chance. The talk at the auditorium was the most boring part of the visit, and i was close to sleeping. But we were really introduced to what's going to happen to us 2 years later, or less than that.

This may sound strange, but i'm really looking forward to my army days, the bonds we are going to build and the experiences we are going to share. After the talk, we went to have a tour around the centre. Due to the rain, we didn't really see many recruits training. i finally got my chance to shoot on the M16 for the first time in my life, and this is much exciting than CS! I realised that the army food rations didn't taste as bad as they seem, like curry noodles, but the dessert was just pure liquid and it really sux. Someone played a prank and put the camouflage cream on me...

What will my army life be :)

The "long-awaited" STJ, aka senior treat junior was finally on yesterday. I was really looking forward to this outing, not because of the free dinner, but the fact that we could have fun together, and also partly because i miss the last JTS due to cca committments. We went straight to Marina Bay after the darn LEAP programme, which taught us about grooming and all those crap, something i've already learnt last year (remember the Perfect Gentlemen workshop?) but too lazy to carry out...

We really enjoyed ourselves at the dinner, and our class had the record most number of people attending such senior junior class gathering...The food wasn't very good though, and my cooking suddenly screwed up...We had pool before and after the dinner as well, and my skills were just below average i believe...Some of us wanted to play LAN after dinner, but we got subbed by the lan shop uncle instead. For whatever reasons, he do not wan to let us play and replied that all the remaining computers were screwed up. This is the first time i've rejected in a lan session...wth!

The General Elections are coming real soon, on the 6th of May if i'm not wrong. No point remembering since i am not able to vote yet, but politics do interest me a lot. I think that our PAP government has been too dominant in recent years. Its time to give the opposition parties a chance to stand up and see what they can do. There's definitely a need to have opposition parties in the parliament to watch on the goverment. Parties like the Worker's Party has been the most well-known opposition party, and who knows, anything can happen on election day.

I remember I was still a young boy at the last General Elections after going through my PSLE in 2001. It was quite a thrill to watch the officer read out the results and number of votes. If there was one thing that i really wan to experience, it will be listening to an election rally, something i've not experienced since i was born.

Well, its so long for now, homework and studies in a complete mess and piling up. Suddenly, i hope the June holidays will come now, giving me time to organise all my work into place...

Aesthetique 2006 was a real success. If there was ever a word to describe it, it had to be the word "fantastic". Although I'm not in the band, as an old boy, I've looking forward to this annual band concert for a very long time. When I first heard about it, I did not hesitate to grab the tickets.

It can be regarded as a CHS reunion, of current students and old boys lke us. Aesthetique, being an annual event, has brought us back to a familiar place, and a familiar atmosphere, or should i say, a familiar feeling. I really felt the Catholic High spirit going high at Victoria Concert Hall. Seeing old friends like Toon and Lan Guan, it really felt good. I wasn't really a big fan of band music, but having attended Aesthetique for the past few years, I begin to appreciate and like it very much. Pieces like Les Miserables and The Incredibles were familiar and yet fresh, and so i loved them.

As I have said, this is not just a symphony band concert. It has a much deeper meaning. Bening a reunion, many familiar faces were seen, not only my friends, but also my teachers, and my principal, Mr. Lee. I guess the highlight of the night for me was the singing of the school song at the end.

Suddenly, I feel like the school song so much...It was the first time that I'm singing it with so many people for 6 months already. Passion runs high in me. Somehow, i sensed the Catholic High spirit and it really felt like home. I miss the days back there, really. If time could go backwards, I would cherish every moment here. 公教中学,屹立星洲。。。After the concert, the school song kept on ringing in my ears, and I really feel like singing it again. Having sang it regularly for the past 10 years, it suddenly feels a little weird now...

Cheers were loud and back again. Finally, we come together to shout the traditional school cheer. We were cheering for everyone. It was a moment that I will never forget. I hope this brotherhood of Catholic High could go on forever...We went to have supper at nearby Macs afterwards, crapping all along, catching up on our current life and it was quite fun...

3 cheers and 3 cheers and 3 cheers for Aesthetique!
3 cheers and 3 cheers and 3 cheers for 公教!
